The new biogas digester at Three Crowns School in the Eastern Cape forms part of a waste water treatment system that provided flush toilets to replace the pit toilets, gas that reduces the need to transport in LP gas or use electricity for cooking, and after further purification provides water and fertiliser for the school’s vegetable garden.
